Whenever someone orders a transfer of registrar with Register4Less.com, we always send a confirmation request by email to the current administrative contact for the domain. This confirmation request ensures that the domain transfer is authorized by an authoratative contact for the domain. This is one of the reasons it's critical that you be sure that your administrative email contact is always valid.

By the rules governing domain registrations and transfers, the gaining registrar is responsible for ensuring that the transfer has been properly autho rized.

Please don't wait until your domain is almost expired before starting the transfer. When you transfer a domain, the year's renewal is added to your domain's time, so no time you've paid for is lost. While it is possible to transfer a domain that is expired (but not in the redemption period), you can avoid downtime for your domain's services by completing the transfer before the domain expires.

Domain Locking Info

Please note, registrars are now using domain locking to prevent unauthorized transfers from happening. You may need to contact your existing registrar and request your domain be unlocked before the transfer can be completed.

Step by Step Instructions:

1. Once you've placed the order for the domain transfer and paid for it, watch your email for the confirmation request. It will be addressed from <transfers@opensrs.org>.
2. In this message will be a link you can click on. It will look like https://rr-n1-tor.opensrs.net/transfers/index.cgi?rid=572. Click on this link to go to the form to retrieve your transfer confirmation form.
3. In the mail we've sent you, there will be lines like this that you'll need You will need to enter the following information to complete the transfer: Domain Name: mydomain.com  password: ABCdE0FGhI
4. If you are transferring more than one domain, instead of a domain name you'll have a batch transfer ID.
5. On the Transfer Confirmation form, type in or use E)dit Copy E)dit Paste functions to put in the name of the domain and the password given in the email.
6. Click on Retrieve Transfer Request.
7. Provide your daytime phone number, and click on Accept.
8. Once confirmed, transfers usually take about 3-4 business days to complete.
9. Please note, you will have limited management functions on our site until the transfer has completed.
10. We will monitor the transfer for you, and will email you a confirmation when the transfer completes.
11. If the transfer is not completed (it wasn't confirmed or had other problems), we will send you an email with the reason the transfer did not go through, and will automatically resubmit the transfer.
12. Once you have confirmed the transfer with us, if you can confirm the transfer away with the domain's current registrar, that will make the transfer complete more quickly.
