Registration: R4L's Exclusive Login Security Agent

Register4Less.com's Exclusive Login Security Agent (LSA) Service

Security, the Human Factor

The LSA service has been defined to deal with security issues that are, as a service provider, beyond our control. It is possible for a customer account, with any service provider to become compromized. Examples of this are:

  • A customer's computer has been compromized, and a key logger is used to detect account passwords by the hacker.
  • Account username & password are written down and the paper is left in an open place.
  • Identity theft...

Dealing with the Human Factor

The LSA Service is designed to provide you the domain owner with additional security measures beyond the traditional username & password. With LSA, if your account were broken into, you will be informed of the break-in, and will be able to kick the intruder off the account.

How it Works

Setting up LSA

  1. Log into your Account
  2. Using the Menu, go to Profiles / Login Security Agent.
  3. Configure the options as provided on the set-up page. You can choose to have the login notice sent to your email address or cell phone, or both.
  4. You will also choose a "kill password". This password is used to kick off an intruder, and can only be set once.

Kicking an intruder off your account.

In the event you receive a LSA notice and you don't think you or someone authorized is currently logged into your account, log in immediately and go to the LSA page.

The screen will show you how many current log in sessions are active for your account, and the IP address for each session.

If you think a session is unauthorized, use the kill command with the kill password. This will disable all other sessions but your own, and will also immediately reset your account password so the intruder will not be able to log back in.
