FAQ: Can you explain what happens when a domain name registration expires?

Here is how it works:

  • After the expiry date, the domain enters a 40 day GRACE period; during this period, the domain can be renewed at our regular rate ($15.95)
  • after the grace period, the domain falls into a 30 day REDEMPTION period; during this period, the domain can be "redeemed" for $75.95.
  • 5 days after the redemption period, the domain goes back to the pool for every one to register; it can now be registered as a new domain at the regular rate.
To avoid these problems, make sure the email address for the Administrative Contact of your domain stays valid at all time.
